Carla is your four-year-old neighbor whose first question when she comes over to play in the afternoon is if you have anything to eat. Probably because she hasn't eaten all day. 

Korey is full of energy during the week when he receives his free breakfast and lunch from school, but on the weekends seems so listless and tired. Probably because at home the kitchen pantry is bare. 

Childhood hunger is one of the biggest challenges our community faces. Food insecurity takes its toll in so many ways. It leads to a weakened immune system and children unable to keep pace with their peers academically and socially.
